Long time no... Yes, it's been over a year since I've posted here although I've continually thought about this project and have taken several pix for future postings--all adhering to the self-imposed rule that the posting reflect reactions to the vernacular snapshot. But, despite the long absence, I have been busy, photographically and otherwise. And now that the weather is improving (I am a bit of a fair weather photog) as is my time management, I hope I will soon resume my reasonable level of productivity.
Let's start then with a still life. Someone wanted to memorialize her new coffee maker. I suspect that it was a major step up the social ladder, or the economic playing field or just a spur of the moment it-feels-good-so-i'm-gonna-get-it moment. I, on the other hand, was wine-tasting (I told you I've been busy) and thought that that's an interesting pic. So here it is-my comeback as still life. More to follow.
This photoblog is a self-assignment challenge where I take pix based on old vernacular snapshots I buy in thrift or antique stores. Part of the challenge is finding snapshots for less than a buck. The original snapshot is posted on the left and my interpretation/contemporary view is on the right. I do not find an old photo and then dig through my archives to find a good match. The original pic served as a base or starting point. The interpretation may be straight forward or somewhat obtuse.
